Safe Sitter

The Junior League of Shreveport-Bossier is proud to present the Safe Sitter (R) babysitting curriculum to area youth beginning in the spring of 2014. This national organization provides medically-accurate, developmentally appropriate training for young teenagers to babysit or stay home alone. League members teach the basics of caring for children, first aid, behavior management and even a little about running a business.

The program is offered in partnership with community organizations in hopes of reaching low-income families who might not be able to afford similar courses and often rely on young teens to care for even younger siblings.
